Sickos Committee To Host Food Drive For State College Food Bank

College football social media account Sickos Committee is hosting a food drive for the State College Food Bank after ranking Penn State football No. 1 in their Sickos Committee National Champion Poll.
Founded in 2020, the Sickos Committee is an online community that highlights viral, humorous, or strange moments across college football. The account boasts over 158,000 followers on X and almost 30,000 on Instagram.
Penn State’s fall from national championship ambitions to a 6-6 season under interim head coach Terry Smith won them the top spot in the Sickos poll, followed by Duke, a 0-12 UMass, and Lane Kiffin.
The idea for the Sickos Give Back Food Drive began in 2021 when they crowned Nebraska the Sickos National Champion and raised $2,200 for Lincoln, Nebraska.
“Well, we decided we wanted to use our growing platform for some good instead of just bad internet jokes. Having some committee members who’ve experienced food insecurity and other members who actually work in the non-profit food bank industry, a food drive was a natural fit,” Sickos commissioner George Smith posted on The Sickos Sentinel newsletter.
Over the past four years, they have raised almost $40,000 in total for local communities, including $11,470 for the Florida State Seminoles in 2024 and $20,000 for the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2023.
The State College drive will continue until January 2, and anyone who donates $25 will receive a gift from the Sickos Committee. Those interested in helping the cause can donate here and dedicate the donation to the Sickos Committee.
