Report: Penn State Football Safety Braz Thomas Plans To Enter Transfer Portal

Penn State football freshman safety Braz Thomas plans to enter the transfer portal, according to a report from Lions247. He has four years of eligibility remaining.

Thomas joined the Nittany Lions in 2025, but has not made an appearance for Penn State yet.

The 6’2″ and 202-pounder was a three-star recruit in high school, according to 247Sports composite rankings, and listed as the No. 22 player in New Jersey, No. 62 safety, and No. 769 player nationally. He chose Penn State over Georgia, Rutgers, and West Virginia.

Thomas is the fifteenth Nittany Lion to enter the transfer portal since the end of the 2025 season. He leaves a talented and young defensive back room with players like Dejaun Lane and Antoine Belgrave-Shorter.
