Penn State Football Safety Karson Kiesewetter Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State football redshirt sophomore safety Karson Kiesewetter has entered the transfer portal, he announced Friday afternoon. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Kiesewetter joined the Nittany Lions in 2023, making no appearances and redshirting his freshman season. The safety made his only appearance for the Nittany Lions in 2025 against Nebraska. He recorded one tackle against the Huskers.

The Altoona, Pennsylvania, native was unranked by 247Sports coming out of high school. He played three seasons on varsity at Bishop Guilfoyle High School, where he won three district titles and a state champion. In 2021, he was the Pennsylvania 1A Player of the Year.

Kiesewetter is the 30th Nittany Lion to enter the transfer portal since the end of the 2025 season. He leaves a talented and young defensive back room with players like Dejaun Lane and Daryus Dixson.
