Report: Penn State Football Safety Kolin Dinkins Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State football redshirt-junior safety Kolin Dinkins is entering the transfer portal, according to a report from Pete Nakos. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Dinkins joined the Nittany Lions in 2022, making no appearances and redshirting his freshman season. The safety played in 12 games during the 2023 season on special teams and earned the team’s Outstanding Run-On Award. In 2024, he played in all 15 games, recording 7 tackles.

In 2025, Dinkins played in every game once again, but only recorded stats in the first three. He finished the season with eight tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one forced fumble.

The Wexford, Pennsylvania, native was unranked by 247Sports coming out of high school. He played three seasons on varsity at North Allegheny High School, where he made it to the three WPIAL semifinals. Dinkins also won a gold medal in the long jump at the WPIAL Class AAA Track and Field Championships as a senior.

Dinkins is the 36th Nittany Lion to enter the transfer portal since the end of the 2025 season. He leaves a talented and young defensive back room with players like Dejaun Lane and Antoine Belgrave-Shorter.
