Report: Four-Star Tight End Benjamin Brahmer Transfers To Penn State Football

Four-star junior tight end Benjamin Brahmer has committed to transfer to Penn State football, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. The former Iowa State player has one year of eligibility remaining.

Brahmer is the No. 30 player in the transfer portal and No. 2 tight end, per 247Sports’ transfer rankings. He was listed as a wide receiver during his high school recruitment. The former three-star was the No. 760 player nationally, No. 107 wide receiver, and No. 6 player in Nebraska, per the same outlet.

The Pierce, Nebraska, native played in all of Iowa State’s 13 games as a freshman, starting in two of them. He posted 28 receptions for 352 yards and two touchdowns. His best game of the season, and first career start, was against Texas in an eventual 26-16 loss. He was named to the Freshman All-America team for multiple outlets.

In 2024, Brahmer dealt with an injury and played in just eight games for the Cyclones. Regardless, he received All-Big 12 honorable mention honors.

The the tight end had his best year in 2025, recording 37 receptions for 446 yards and 6 touchdowns. He made the All-Big 12 second team.

Brahmer will join Andrew Rappleyea, who announced his return to the Nittany Lions in 2026, in a new-look tight end room for Matt Campbell. He is the first former Iowa State player to commit to Penn State out of the transfer portal.
