Penn State Football Punter Gabe Nwosu Declares For NFL Draft

Mama, there goes that man.

Penn State football punter Gabe Nwosu has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft, he announced Sunday.

Nwosu easily served as one of Penn State’s brightest spots in its tumultuous 2025 season. Nwosu made the most of all his playing time.

The 6’6″, 296-pound specialist has been Penn State’s fourth-down beast. Nwosu punted 38 times for 1,749 yards, good for an average of 46 yards per boot and 17th in the country, per ESPN. He landed 14 punts inside the opponents’ 20-yard line and had a long of 68 yards against Michigan State.

Nwosu snatched the starting punter position from Riley Thompson ahead of 2025. He redshirted in 2021 and appeared in 37 games from 2022 to 2024 as Penn State’s primary kickoff specialist.

Nwosu is the 11th Nittany Lion to declare for the draft. He looks to be the first Penn State punter drafted since the Baltimore Ravens picked up Jordan Stout in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
