Report: Former Penn State Cornerback Elliot Washington II Transfers To Clemson

Former Penn State cornerback Elliot Washington II has committed to transfer to Clemson, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Washington II was a four-star recruit out of Venice, FL, in the class of 2023. He was ranked No. 175 in the nation and No. 13 among safeties, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He switched to cornerback upon his arrival on campus.

He burned his redshirt immediately, playing predominantly on special teams as a true freshman in 2023 before joining a cornerback rotation that included A.J. Harris, Cam Miller, Jalen Kimber, and Zion Tracy in 2024 before becoming a starter in 2025. In 36 career games, he had 53 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, and nine passes defended. He departed the program prior to the Pinstripe Bowl.

His best highlight as a Nittany Lion came against Iowa this year, when he recovered a blocked field goal by Xavier Gilliam and returned it for a touchdown to give Penn State a halftime lead. It was the first play of its kind for the Nittany Lions since Grant Haley’s Block Six in 2016 against Ohio State.

Washington will now reunite with former Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Allen with the Tigers.
