Penn State Football Wide Receiver Matthew Outten Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State football freshman receiver Matthew Outten is entering the transfer portal, according to a report from Matt Zenitz. He has four years of eligibility remaining.

The Portsmouth, Virginia, native did not see any snaps this season due to battling injuries. Outten is a former four-star recruit in the class of 2025, listed as the No. 12 athlete and No. 311 player in his class, per 247Sports composite rankings.

The true freshman picked up some steam to compete for a spot on the depth chart early in spring camp, but injuries and three wide receivers transferring in slowed that down.

Outten is the 49th Nittany Lion to reportedly enter the transfer portal.

Penn State will face building an entirely new wide receiver room for the second time in two years, with all three starters, Liam Clifford, and now Outten, leaving this offseason.
