Former Penn State Football Safety Kolin Dinkins Transfers To Temple

Former Penn State football safety Kolin Dinkins is transferring to Temple, the program announced on X on Saturday evening. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Dinkins was a preferred walk-on in the Class of 2022 out of North Allegheny High School in Wexford, PA, having no star rating on 247Sports and not receiving a single FBS offer. He joined his older brother, Khalil, on the roster and gradually earned time as a special teamer, winning Most Outstanding Run-On Player along with offensive lineman Dominic Rulli in 2023.

After redshirting in 2022, Dinkins has played in almost every single game for the Nittany Lions, predominantly on special teams, in the past three seasons. In 40 total games, he had 16 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble against Villanova in September 2025. With his older brother graduating, Dinkins entered the transfer portal after the Pinstripe Bowl.

He’s the third Nittany Lion to transfer to Temple after tight end Joey Schlaffer and quarterback Jaxon Smolik. Dinkins will get a chance to face Penn State on Saturday, September 12, when the Nittany Lions face the Owls at Lincoln Financial Field.
