Former Penn State Defensive Tackle Kaleb Artis Transfers To Temple

Former Penn State defensive tackle Kaleb Artis is transferring to Temple, he announced on social media on Sunday night. He missed the 2025 season with an injury.

Artis was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2022 out of Fresh Meadows, NY, being ranked as the No. 85 defensive lineman and No. 3 player from New York, according to the 247Sports Composite. He chose Penn State over Auburn and Florida, committing on the Fourth of July in 2021.

He played two games as a freshman in 2022, preserving his redshirt. He gradually moved up the depth chart over the next two seasons, playing in 24 combined games from 2023-24 until a preseason injury cost him the entire 2025 season. At Penn State, he made seven tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in 26 games.

Artis will be a redshirt senior in 2026, but would have a case to apply for a medical redshirt to attain an extra year of eligibility if he and the Owls want to pursue it. He is the fourth Nittany Lion to transfer to Temple, joining tight end Joey Schlaffer, safety Kolin Dinkins, and quarterback Jaxon Smolik.
