Former Penn State offensive lineman Michael Troutman III is transferring to Virginia Tech, per Evan Watkins of 247Sports. He has four years of eligibility remaining.

Troutman was a three-star recruit out of Wayne, NJ, in the Class of 2025, being ranked as the No. 50 interior offensive lineman and No. 21 player from New Jersey, according to the 247Sports Composite. He committed to Penn State in February 2024, choosing the Nittany Lions over Rutgers and Michigan State.

Troutman did not appear in any games as a true freshman in 2025, entering the transfer portal on January 7. He’ll continue his collegiate career in Blacksburg, Virginia, following former head coach James Franklin.
