Report: Former Penn State Football Linebacker Kari Jackson Transfers To Toledo

Former Penn State linebacker Kari Jackson has signed with Toledo, the team announced Saturday. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Jackson was a three-star recruit in the class of 2024 out of West Bloomfield, Michigan. He was ranked as the No. 14 player in the state and No. 52 linebacker in the nation, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He committed to the program in February 2023, choosing the Nittany Lions over Michigan State, among others.

He redshirted his true freshman season in 2024 and only appeared against Nevada in 2025. He entered the transfer portal on January 2. Jackson took a visit to Purdue early in the cycle, but ultimately decided to leave the Big Ten and head to Toledo, a perennial contender in the Mid-American Conference and where Matt Campbell had his first head coaching gig.
