Nittany Lions In The NFL: Divisional Weekend Roundup

The NFL playoffs continued this weekend with four more exciting games. Unfortunately, no Penn Staters who recorded a stat this week will be moving on to a conference championship.

That being said, one Nittany Lion showed out in the divisional round, and three more recorded two tackles each. Here’s how some former fan favorites did in their final games of the season.

Jaquan Brisker, Chicago Bears

Jaquan Brisker made 14 tackles, including eight solo tackles and a sack, in the Chicago Bears 20-17 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The safety also defended two passes in one of the best performances of his career.

Fourteen tackles are the second-highest single-game total of Brisker’s career, only behind week 12 in 2023, when he had 17.

Other Notable Performances

  • Defensive tackle DaQuan Jones recorded two tackles in the Buffalo Bills’ 33-30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos.
  • Yetur Gross-Matos made a pair of tackles in the San Francisco 49ers’ 41-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
  • Safety Jaylen Reed had two tackles in the Houston Texans’ 28-16 loss to the New England Patriots.
