UPUA Funds Justice & Equity Identity Roundtable

The 20th Assembly of the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) met on Wednesday to swear in the College of Arts and Architecture Representative and pass two bills.

This UPUA meeting was moved via Zoom due to the weather. Following reports from President Rasha Elwakil and Vice President Noah Youcheff, the assembly moved into confirmations and swearing-ins.

Confirmations/ Swearing-ins.

The only swearing-in of the night was for the College of Arts and Architecture Representative, Eli Rosenberry. Rosenberry was sworn in by President Elwakil.

New Business

The first piece of new business for the night was Bill #48-20: Purchasing of Photo booth Credits. This bill allows UPUA to purchase credits to supplement a photo booth that was previously approved by the UPUA assembly. While the purchase of the photo booth was previously approved, credits must be purchased to enable branding features and customization of the booth. This ensures that the UPUA photo booth can be used effectively and affordably by organizations across campus. This bill will allow for the purchase of two packs of “Booth.Event event credits,” totaling $199.98.

Bill #48-20: Purchasing of Photo booth Credits passed unanimously.

The last piece of new business for the night was Bill #49-20: Funding for Justice & Equity Spring Semester 2026 Identity Roundtable. This bill provides funding for the UPUA Committee of Justice and Equity’s Identity Roundtable, which will be held on Thursday, January 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the HUB. The bill requests funds for catering and to rent the Flex Theater for the event, totaling $870.65.

This event is held each semester and welcomes members of various identity organizations to discuss topics related to university culture and to collaborate on new initiatives for the student body. The roundtable event is vital for UPUA to hear from leaders across the Penn State community and utilize this conversation to create a more inclusive and supportive environment on campus.
