Former Penn State Football Quarterback Bekkem Kritza Transfers To Alabama A&M

Former Penn State football quarterback Bekkem Kritza has committed to transfer to Alabama A&M, he announced on social media on Monday. He has four years of eligibility remaining.

The 6’5″, 199-pound signal caller did not see any time in his true freshman 2025 campaign in a crowded Penn State quarterback room. Ethan Grunkemeyer took over under center after Drew Allar’s season-ending injury. Jaxon Smolik backed up Grunkemeyer until his own injury against Iowa. Kritza even sat behind emergency quarterback Liam Clifford through some points of the year, suggesting his lack of readiness at the position.

Kritza threw for 3,192 yards and 22 touchdowns as a freshman at Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School in Hollywood, Florida, according to his Penn State bio. He was tabbed as the No. 51 quarterback in the class of 2025 and No. 97 player in Florida as a recruit, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings.

Kritza is the 44th Nittany Lion to find a new home in the transfer portal and the third quarterback to do so, joining Ethan Grunkemeyer and Jaxon Smolik.
