Penn State Men’s Hockey Earns Two Big Ten Stars Of The Week

Penn State men’s hockey earned two of the Big Ten Stars of the Week on Tuesday. Freshman Gavin McKenna earned the first star, and captain Dane Dowiak was awarded the second.

This is McKenna’s second straight week, and the third time this season that he has been given the award. He recorded his first-ever hat-trick against Wisconsin this past weekend. He is tied for the national lead in both goals and points. He has now recorded points in five straight games for the Nittany Lions.

Dowiak also recorded his first-ever hat-trick this weekend against the Badgers. He secured the game for the Nittany Lions on Friday and had two assists in the Saturday game.

Penn State will take on Michigan State at 6 p.m. Friday, January 30, at Pegula Ice Arena.
