Matt Campbell To Perform Ceremonial Puck Drop At Beaver Stadium Game

Matt Campbell is a certified hockey guy.

Penn State football’s new head coach will be dropping the puck ahead of Penn State men’s hockey’s Beaver Stadium matchup with Michigan State, the team announced on Wednesday.

The ceremony will mark the second time to date that Campbell has been present at a Penn State men’s hockey game, with the first being a videoboard appearance during the team’s series against Minnesota. Saturday’s game against No. 2 Michigan State will notably be his first public showing since students returned from winter break.

The Nittany Lions’ highly anticipated battle with the Spartans will not only be a celebration of Penn State hockey, but it will also serve to usher in a new era of Penn State football.

Tickets to the event are selling fast, but folks interested in seeing Campbell take center ice can purchase tickets here.
