Former Penn State Football Running Back Commit Kemon Spell Commits To Georgia

Former Penn State football running back commit Kemon Spell has committed to Georgia, per Hayes Fawcett of On3.

The McKeesport, Pennsylvania, native announced his initial commitment in August 2024, but he decommitted immediately following the firing of James Franklin.

Spell represents the No. 7 overall recruit in his class, No. 1 running back, and is touted as the best prospect in the state for 2027, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings.

Over the course of the season, Spell teetered between schools such as Notre Dame, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, and Ohio State. In the aftermath of his decommitment from the Nittany Lions in October, Nebraska, Oregon, and Ole Miss had since offered the standout rusher a roster spot.

On December 10, Matt Campbell and Penn State once again extended an offer of their own and looked to get him on campus during one of the team’s Junior Days in January, but he never made the trip. The weekend he was scheduled to visit would wind up seeing over a foot of snowfall in State College.

After being crystal balled to Notre Dame in October and to even return to the Nittany Lions in January, the five-star will head down to Georgia to play under Kirby Smart.
