Penn State Wrestling Rankings Unchanged In National Polls Following Final Road Dual

It’s the home stretch, folks.

Penn State wrestling capped off its final road trip of the season with the dismantling of No. 10 Michigan on Friday night, 38-3, the program’s 84th consecutive dual victory.

While the toughest test is still ahead with No. 2 Ohio State coming to the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday, the Nittany Lions hold a dominant share of the No. 1 position votes in the latest NWCA coaches poll, taking all but one vote. The Buckeyes claimed the rest as they improved to 17-0 this past weekend after defeating No. 7 Iowa 24-9.

There were no changes with Intermat’s individual rankings this week.

Luke Lilledahl, Shayne Van Ness, Mitchell Mesenbrink, Levi Haines, Rocco Welsh, and Josh Barr still lead the way in their respective weight classes.

True freshmen Marcus Blaze and PJ Duke remained at No. 4 at 133 and 157 pounds while Braeden Davis and Cole Mirasola stayed put at No. 12 for the 141 and heavyweight classes.

The Nittany Lions will host No. 2 Ohio State on Friday, February 13, in the Bryce Jordan Center in their final Big Ten dual of the season. The match will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network with the event starting at 7 p.m.
