State College To Host Ethnic Heritage Jazz Ensemble

On Monday, February 16th, Gorinto Productions will be hosting Ethnic Heritage Ensemble at Manny’s Live Performance Space, at 110 Heister St. This all-ages event promotes global music in Central Pennsylvania, featuring Kahil El’Zabar, a renowned composer.

Ethnic Heritage Ensemble was founded in the mid-1970’s in Chicago. They are among the most important groups to come from the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. El’Zabar is a highly respected jazz artist who promotes Afro-centric spiritual music and theater.

El’Zabar has collaborated with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Pharaoh Sanders, and Nina Simone throughout his career. Outside of his music career, he is an educator and an advocate who influences people beyond his performances.

The Ethnic Heritage Ensembles performance aims to offer a great experience, offering spiritual intensity, impressive rhythms, and transformative music for anyone interested. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and more information can be found here.
