Penn State Men’s Hockey Names Aiden Fink Alternate Captain For Remainder Of Season

Aiden Fink was named an alternate captain for Penn State men’s hockey, the team announced on Wednesday.

The move comes after captain Dane Dowiak revealed that he would miss the remainder of the regular season and postseason with an upper-body injury. Fink will join teammates Reese Laubach, Ben Schoen, and Jarod Crespo in the role.

Fink brings a breadth of on-ice talent to the team’s leadership group. Earlier this season, he became the fastest Nittany Lion to reach the 100-point mark in his career, and currently sits in ninth place on Penn State’s all-time scoring list with 43 goals.

Last year, Aiden Fink was named a Hobey Baker Award finalist after a record-setting sophomore campaign. This season, he continues to excel, tallying 22 points in 21 games played.

The forward’s first game with the “A” on his chest will come this weekend, as the team takes on Ohio State inside Pegula Ice Arena on Friday, February 20. Puck drop is slated for 8:30 p.m., and the game will air on Big Ten Network.
