State College Borough Announces Parking Changes Ahead Of THON Weekend

THON Weekend 2026 is finally here, folks! With that, the State College Borough announced changes to its parking policy on Thursday. The changes will help accommodate unusual traffic patterns during the early morning and late evening hours.

The changes are as follows:

  • Beginning at noon on February 20, “No Parking 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.” and the one-and two-hour restrictions will be lifted. The restrictions will return to place at 2 a.m. on Monday, February 23.

However, lawn parking still will not be permitted. All Pennsylvania Vehicle Code Violations will also still be strictly enforced. Some of these enforcements include:

  • No parking on sidewalks
  • No parking within an intersection
  • No parking on a crosswalk
  • No parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection
  • No parking within 30 feet of a stop sign
  • No parking over 12 inches from the curb
  • No parking against traffic
  • No parking in front of a driveway
  • No parking anytime

Per usual, those who do not comply with the list above will be subject to ticketing and towing. Parking meters on-street and parking lots will also still be enforced from 10 a.m to 10 p.m. throughout the weekend.

For more information, contact the State College Parking Department at (814)-278-4769.
