How To Help Dancers Even If You Can’t Get On The Floor

Looking at the floor during THON Weekend 2026, you will see a sea of frantically moving multi-colored shirts, tennis balls flying, and dancers enjoying piggyback rides. It may seem that everyone is on the floor, interacting with dancers, except you.
Don’t fret, though, as we came up with various ways to help support dancers from the stands, no floor pass needed.
While the deadline for dancer mail has passed, there are still ways to try to give a specific dancer a note or message throughout the weekend. Your best bet will be tracking down your dancer’s dancer relations committee member. These committee members will attend to your dancer for long spans throughout the weekend, so they would be the best people for getting your letter to your dancer.
You can easily spot a DR committee member from their bright yellow shirt. Even if you cannot track down a specific DR member, almost every THON committee has a floor shift at some point throughout the weekend. So, pass your note to a friend on a communications, hospitality, or even a rules and regulations committee, and there is a chance that your letter could get to your dancer.

The next and most obvious way to support dancers from the stands is by making a sign. While THON Weekend is already underway, it is not too late to bust out some craft paper and markers to make a personalized sign for a THON dancer. If you make a sign for a specific dancer, shoot them a text of where to look in the stands, and hold your sign high while dancing in the BJC.
Another way you can help every dancer on the floor from the stands is to show up and show out at the BJC. There is nothing worse than a partially empty, low-energy BJC in the late hours of THON Weekend. THON is not just Final Four, National Act, or Pep Rally; it is also all of the hours in between.
Instead, treat every performance, Line Dance, and game show like it is your last. These dancers look to the stands to keep them going, so seeing energized, smiling faces cheering them on will make the biggest difference throughout the weekend. While this may not seem like the most direct way to help dancers, donating is one easy way to help motivate THON dancers throughout the weekend. After all, they are sacrificing their sleep, sanity, and ability to comfortably stand in order to raise money FTK.
