Former Penn State Football Offensive Lineman Connor McGovern Re-Signs With Buffalo Bills

Former Penn State football offensive lineman Connor McGovern re-signed with the Buffalo Bills on a four-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

McGovern signed a four-year, $52 million deal, which includes $32 million guaranteed, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

McGovern played for Penn State from 2016 to 2018. During that time, he started 35 games for the Nittany Lions and was named a third-team All-Big Ten selection and Penn State’s most outstanding offensive lineman in his junior year.

After his time in Happy Valley, McGovern was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. During his time with the Cowboys, he was affected by injuries and missed his rookie year with a pectoral issue. After that, he had 29 starts in three years before signing with the Buffalo Bills in 2023.

During his three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, McGovern has been an integral part of the offensive line. He was fifth in the NFL pass-block win rate (97.2%) in 2025. He was a left guard in his first season with the Bills before transitioning to starting center two seasons ago. McGovern will come back alongside new Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady, who was a graduate assistant with the Nittany Lions.
