My THON Hot Dog Review

I will preface this, I am an extreme skeptic when it comes to meat at sporting events.

That being said, I decided to take a risk and purchase a $5 hot dog from the self-checkout section of the BJC. I needed a Diet Pepsi to get me through my last two hours and stumbled upon a delicious-looking glizzy.

I had previously eaten an Auntie Anne’s pretzel and a grilled cheese, which were very good but not that filling. For my ten-hour shift, I needed something more. My body craved a hot dog.

I have gotten sick on hot dogs twice before, but that was a while ago! I was optimistic going into this hot dog-eating journey.

I opened the cardboard container and was blessed with a shiny-looking hot dog. As soon as I picked it up, though, I knew something was wrong.

The bun was completely hard. I’m saying it was as hard as a rock. The bottom of the bun was also soggy, which is an odd combination with the hard texture. The bun was inedible. I was really disappointed in it, but the dough must’ve just not been good.

I did end up eating the actual hot dog, though, which was fantastic. It was juicy and had just enough flavor to be better than the average hot dog.

I am scared of the repercussions, but it was rewarding… for now.

I’m going to give the hot dog a 4/10.
