Early Predictions For Next Year’s National Act

With Fitz and The Tantrums kicking off THON as this year’s surprise performer, who do we think next year will be? THON has a theme of heartwarming, joyful artists that fit the aesthetic of the event.

Here’s our ideas of who would be a great fit for next year.

MGMT

MGMT has various popular hit songs. One of their biggest hits is called “Kids,” which resonates perfectly with THON and its timeline of FTK.

The whole BJC singing along to Kids, and all of MGMT’s music, would bring a memorable, nostalgic feeling.

Empire Of The Sun

Many people know popular hits from Empire Of The Sun. Famously known for “Walking on a Dream” and “We are the People,” Empire Of The Sun has the potential to take over the BJC with its variety of hit songs.

Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema Club has great energy and bangers from the 2010s. The album Tourist History has many songs for people to enjoy.

The Lumineers

To really make someone reflect on the magic THON brings, the Lumineers would be perfect. They have a nostalgic sound that feels like a connection is made every time you listen.

One Republic

One Republic is popular within THON playlists. Its songs definitely hit the heart on a deep level, perfect for THON.

GROUPLOVE

TAKE ME TO YOUR BEST FRIENDS HOUSE, LETS GO AROUND THIS ROUND-ABOUT OHHHHHHHH YEAAAAAH! GROUPLOVE would totally bring energy to THON.

IV OF SPADES

IV OF SPADES will come inside your heart, looking for answers to everything you can wish for for a THON performer.

Of Monsters And Men

Hopefully the millennial burger trend doesn’t ruin their best song, which everyone should know and remember for being people’s favorite song at one point.

Echosmith

Echosmith is a little more calm, but yet speaks high volumes. The audience can definitely rock along with the cool kids.

Shelly

You might not know who Shelly is, but I bet you know their lead singer Clairo. Yup, Clairo is in a band who actively releases music.

Since they aren’t as popular as a band, THON could potentially get its bigger performer yet. Clairo could also sidetrack and do her popular songs with the band during the performance, and it could be a sneaky good pick.

Theres many options for performers, but these were just some of our favorites we thought would make the most sense.
