State College Regional Airport To Increase Daily Flights With United, American Airlines

The State College Regional Airport will soon expand its commercial service with United and American Airlines, according to a Tuesday release from the airport.
Starting March 30, United Airlines will offer up to six daily flights to Chicago O’Hare International, up from the current three. An additional daily flight to Washington Dulles International will also be added, bringing the total to four per day.
As for American Airlines, it will bump up its daily flights to Philadelphia from three to four in the coming months.
The additional flights will open an extra 20,000 seats, according to airport officials.
“Increased flight availability is an important step forward for our community and regional economy,” Jason McMurtrie, assistant executive director of landside operations for the Centre County Airport Authority, said in a statement. “Expanding service beginning March 30 demonstrates confidence in our Central Pennsylvania market and reinforces our commitment to providing reliable, convenient air travel options for the residents, businesses, and visitors we serve.”
The airport saw 148,196 passengers board an aircraft in 2025, marking its highest level of activity since 2020 and the third-highest in the airport’s history.
This comes after the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County, the Centre County Airport Authority, the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau, and Penn State unified to create the State College Air Service Alliance last year. The partnership has been working to expand airport services to support economic growth through tourism and incoming travel dollars.
