Report: Penn State Football Tight End Andrew Rappleyea Out For Spring Practice Period

Penn State football tight end Andrew Rappleyea will miss spring practices with a lower-body injury, according to a report by Blue & White Illustrated’s Sean Fitz.
Rappleyea posted a picture of himself in a walking boot to his Instagram story Thursday morning, along with the message, “John 13:7, we back soon.”
Fitz shared that the injury setback is described as “short-term,” allowing the redshirt junior to return for summer workouts.
Rappleyea, a native of Millbrook, New York, is one of Penn State’s top returning players from last year’s roster. After missing all but one game in 2024 due to a knee injury, he bounced back in 2025, logging 180 yards and three touchdowns on 20 catches across eight games.
Penn State’s tight end unit, which includes Brian Kortovich and Finn Furmanek, as well as the trio of Iowa State transfers Benjamin Brahmer, Gabe Burkle, and Cooper Alexander, will compete for the additional reps made available by Rappleyea’s absence.
