Penn State Baseball Home Opener Against St. John’s Cancelled Due To Inclement Weather

Penn State baseball’s home opener on Tuesday, March 3, against non-conference foe St. John’s has been cancelled due to impending inclement weather in the forecast, the team announced on Monday.

The game was originally scheduled as part of a two-game mid-week series between the Nittany Lions and the Red Storm that would serve as the first home games of the season at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The second game, scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, is still scheduled to go on.

Mike Gambino’s squad is off to a 3-6 start to the season after spending the first three weeks of the college baseball season in warm weather, playing in Arizona, Virginia, and the Bahamas. The Nittany Lions are coming off one of the best seasons in program history, which saw them tie for the second-most wins in program history and make the Big Ten Tournament semifinals for the second consecutive season.
