Penn State Wrestling Receives Six No. 1 Seeds For 2026 Big Ten Championships

The postseason is here, folks.

After yet another undefeated regular season where Penn State wrestling reached 86 straight dual wins, the Big Ten has released the seeding for the 2026 Big Ten Championships, which included all 10 Nittany Lion starters. The Nittany Lions have won the team title at the conference championships three seasons in a row as they look to defend the honor once again on March 7 and 8 in their very own arena at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Six Nittany Lions received the top seed in their respective weight class, with nine wrestlers being seeded inside of the top four. The following is a complete list of each wrestler’s seed in their respective weight class.

125 lbs. – No. 1 Luke Lilledahl

133 lbs. – No. 1 Marcus Blaze

141 lbs. – No. 7 Braeden Davis

149 lbs. – No. 1 Shayne Van Ness

157 lbs. – No. 2 PJ Duke

165 lbs. – No. 1 Mitchell Mesenbrink

174 lbs. – No. 2 Levi Haines

184 lbs. – No. 1 Rocco Welsh

197 lbs. – No. 1 Josh Barr

285 lbs. – No. 4 Cole Mirasola

The 2026 Big Ten Wrestling Championships will kick off with sessions one and two on Saturday, March 7, starting at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. The tournament will conclude after sessions three and four on Sunday, March 8, starting at noon in the Bryce Jordan Center. All sessions will be available for viewing on BTN+ and the Big Ten Network.
