Report: Former Penn State Football Safety Jaquan Brisker Signs With Pittsburgh Steelers

Former Penn State football safety Jaquan Brisker agreed to terms on a one-year contract worth $5.5 million with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Brisker began his college career at Lackawanna College. He spent two years there until he transferred to Penn State prior to the 2019 season, where he spent the next three seasons. During his time in Happy Valley, he totaled 153 tackles and five interceptions. After his standout 2021 season, he was named to the first-team All-Big Ten and second-team All-American, honors that would help him get drafted.
After his time at Penn State, Brisker was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears.
During his tenure in Chicago, he played 52 games, racking up 342 tackles, four interceptions, and seven sacks, ultimately developing into a versatile defensive back under defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. Following four seasons with the Chicago Bears, he became a free agent for the first time in his career.
Brisker will join forces with a familiar face in the secondary in Joey Porter Jr. The two were teammates at Penn State from 2019 to 2021.
Brisker, a Pittsburgh-area native, attended Gateway High School in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. He returns home to join the Steelers’ secondary as the team looks to strengthen its defensive backfield.
