Penn State To Host Pre-Powwow Celebration For Second Year

The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications and the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences are set to sponsor an hour-long preview of the Penn State Powwow for the second year in a row.
The event, taking place on March 27, will feature musician and storyteller Patrick Littlewolf Brooks. The military veteran and member of the Tuscarora Nation earned three Purple Heart commendations during his time with the U.S. Army.
Starting at 4 p.m., the celebration will be held on the west side of the Willard Building. Folks from the Penn State community are welcome to go and learn about the importance of powwows for Native American communities. Questions are encouraged.
The Annual Penn State Powwow will take place on the following two days at 200 Ellis Pl. in State College, on March 28-29. It is a free event open to the public.
Penn State’s Powwow has a national reputation as one of the best powwows in the country. It is a celebration of American Indian culture, music, food, and art. There will be vendors there showcasing and selling items to the public.
