Penn State Women’s Volleyball To Play At Wrigley Field Against Kentucky In 2026 Season

Penn State women’s volleyball will play at one of the most iconic venues in sports next season.

The Nittany Lions will take to Wrigley Field for a match against Kentucky on September 6, the team announced Monday.

Head coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley will return to her hometown of Chicago for a rematch from this past season, when the Wildcats won 3-0 at Rec Hall. Prior to the season beginning, Schumacher-Cawley threw the first pitch at Wrigley Field before a Cubs game.

Wrigley Field, the home of the MLB’s Chicago Cubs that first opened in 1914, has a capacity of 41,649. It also played host to Penn State men’s hockey on January 3, 2025.

Elmhurst, Illinois, native and Penn State rising junior Ava Falduto will also return close to home for the match.

The match is a part of two Big Ten-SEC matchups at the home of the Chicago Cubs, as Nebraska will play Vanderbilt.

Both matches will be broadcast on FOX with the first beginning at 7 p.m.
