Penn State Football’s Liam Clifford Projects As Undrafted Free Agent Ahead Of 2026 NFL Draft

After five seasons in Happy Valley, Penn State football wide receiver Liam Clifford is headed to the NFL draft.
A four-star recruit out of St. Xavier High School, Clifford followed his older brother and Penn State starting quarterback Sean Clifford to Happy Valley as a part of the 2021 recruiting class.
“Combination of size, speed, and physical style of play make him a good bet to be a difference maker at the Power Five level and a potential draft choice one day,” said 247Sports’ Allen Trieu about Clifford coming out of high school.
Clifford appeared in 52 games for the Blue and White, racking up 42 receptions for 530 yards and a touchdown throughout his career. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native also scored a special teams touchdown against UCLA this past year after a blocked punt. Clifford spent much of his final season at Penn State as the team’s emergency quarterback after injuries to Drew Allar and Jackson Smolik.
Though not invited to the NFL Combine, Clifford had a solid performance at Penn State’s pro day. He measured in at 6’1″ and 200 pounds while running a 4.57-second forty-yard dash and repping out 225 pounds 19 times on the bench.
Clifford is likely a long shot to get drafted and projects as an undrafted free agent. His versatility and experience on special teams could give him a shot, but his lack of production in his senior year doesn’t help his case. Clifford has not publicly met with any NFL teams ahead of the NFL draft.
The 2026 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 23, and runs through Saturday, April 25, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. All seven rounds will be broadcast on ESPN and can also be seen on NFL Plus.
