Report: Penn State Hoops Guard Freddie Dilione V To Enter Transfer Portal

After spending two years with Penn State men’s basketball, Freddie Dilione is leaving Happy Valley.

The redshirt junior guard will enter the portal with one year of eligibility left, according to reports by On3’s Joe Tipton.

Dilione will be entering the portal for the second time after starting his collegiate career at Tennessee. After arriving in State College ahead of the 2024-2025 season, Dilione has appeared in 63 games and averaged 11.7 points per game during his tenure with the Nittany Lions.

This past season, Dilione started 15 games for the blue and white and averaged a career-best and team-leading 14 points per game, while shooting an efficient 47.3 percent from the field. Dilione also finished top-five on the team in all four other traditional stat categories.

Dilione is the second reported Penn State men’s basketball player to enter the transfer portal, and will be a key piece the Nittany Lions need to replace before next season.
