Alpha Fire Company & Penn State Police Respond To Fire At Benkovic Building

Alpha Fire Company and Penn State Police responded to a fire at the Benkovic Building on campus on Wednesday morning.

There was a small fire in a chemical fume hood in one of the second floor laboratories, a Penn State Police spokesperson told Onward State. A fire extinguisher did not quench the fire, leading to Alpha Fire Company’s response.

“We did evacuate the entire building just out of total precaution of everything, but everything is absolutely fine now,” the spokesperson said.

There were no injuries and Alpha Fire Company trucks started moving out of the area around noon.
