Your Guide To Golf At Penn State

Happy Masters week, folks!
The Masters Tournament is more than just one of golf’s most iconic events, but also marks the unofficial start of the golf season for many.
Luckily for you, you don’t need Augusta to experience great golf – Penn State has its own courses.
The Penn State Golf Courses, located at 1523 W. College Ave, are now officially open for the season. All 36 holes across both courses are available for play, with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. and bookable online or by calling the golf shop. Practice facilities are also open daily, with the driving range open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the golf shop open from 8:15 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Still too cold to head outside? Indoor golf simulator tee times are also available through the golf shop by calling (814) 863-0257.
At Penn State, golfers have access to two course options — the Penn State Blue Course and the Penn State White Course. The Blue Course is the more relaxed and beginner-friendly of the two. With a scenic layout, it’s a great choice for students or casual golfers looking for a relaxing round of golf. The White Course offers more of a challenge with a slightly more technical layout. This course is best for those looking to sharpen their skills or have a more competitive round.
At the Blue Course, student rates for 18 holes range from $37 on weekdays to $52 on weekends, while a nine-hole round costs $27. Twilight rates offer a discounted option between $32 and $39.The White Course is even more budget-friendly for students, with 18 holes priced between $26 and $32, and nine holes available for $22. Twilight rounds can be as low as $26, making it one of the most price-friendly ways for students to get out on the course. Optional cart rentals are $25 for 18 holes, and student club rentals are $10.
For those who catch the golf bug during the Masters and want to play consistently, Penn State offers a variety of membership options. A full-season student membership costs $875 and includes unlimited play on both courses through March 2027. More flexible plans are also available, including semester-based memberships starting at $400. Students looking for a lower commitment membership can get a White Course-only membership, which begins at $235 for the spring semester, with discounted access to the Blue Course. Memberships also come with perks such as advanced tee time registrations, pro shop discounts, and access to leagues and events.
While Georgia may be on your mind, but still out of reach, Penn State’s golf courses offer a local (and affordable) way to experience the game during one of its most exciting times of the year.
