Penn State Men’s Volleyball’s Owen Rose Named EIVA Defensive Player Of The Week

Penn State middle blocker Owen Rose has been named the Defensive Player of the Week, the EIVA announced Monday. It is Rose’s third time receiving the title in his senior season and seventh time overall in his collegiate career.

Rose earned the title after two hard-fought matches against Sacred Heart over the weekend. Both contests resulted in five-set wins for the Nittany Lions. Rose dominated defensively with 11 blocks in Friday’s victory and seven in Saturday’s.

Rose is averaging 1.80 blocks a set and leads the EIVA in blocks with 129 on the season. He sits at 460 blocks in his career.
