Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run To Take Place April 26

The annual Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run is back! The event, presented by Sheetz, will take place on Sunday, April 26, and will be open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.

All proceeds from the run will benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania and support the 13,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Last year’s run was the most successful in the event’s history, raising more than $500,000.

Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Medlar Field and will close promptly at 10:15 a.m. The 5K Run/Walk will start at 11:00 a.m., with the Two Mile Fun Walk following at 11:10 a.m. on Curtin Road at the entrance to the All Sports Museum. The race course will close at noon, with awards beginning at 12:15 p.m.

The Beaver Stadium Run Opening Ceremony will take place at 10:20 a.m. on the stage in front of the start line. At the conclusion of the race, awards will be distributed to the top three men, top three women, and first place in girls and boys.

The event will take place rain or shine, with water and snacks provided.

Registration costs $35.00 for ages six and up, and children under five can participate for free. Penn State students can participate at a discounted rate of $25.00.

Free parking will be available at Jordan East, Stadium West, or Porter North. Porter South will not be available on the day of the race.

Stadium visitors will need to follow the stadium’s clear bag policy while watching the race.
