Former Penn State Football Wide Receiver Allen Robinson Announces Retirement From NFL
Former Penn State football receiver Allen Robinson announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons on Monday evening via his Instagram.
After hauling in 177 catches for 2,479 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns in three seasons in Happy Valley, Robinson was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He put up what would be his career-high in receiving yards during the 2015 season, posting 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns on 80 grabs.
He signed a multi-year deal with the Chicago Bears in the 2018 offseason, where he became only the fifth player in franchise history to record back-to-back seasons with 1,000 receiving yards.
Robinson had stops with the Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Detroit Lions in his final three seasons, and after sitting out the 2025 season, the 32-year-old ended his career with 7,058 yards and 43 touchdowns on 565 receptions.
