Penn State Women’s Hockey Adds Two Hockey East Transfers

Penn State women’s hockey has begun its work in the transfer portal, earning the commitments of Vermont defenseman Ashley Kokavec and Boston College forward Alanna Devlin on Friday morning.

Kokavec, who hails from Parkland, Florida, is a former All-Hockey East Third Team recipient and has spent time at both Maine and Vermont in her three-year collegiate career. In 106 career games, she has 13 goals and 31 assists for 44 total points. She has one year of eligibility remaining.

Devlin, a Marshfield, Massachusetts native, is a former U.S. U18 Women’s National Team member, winning a gold medal at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championships. She scored seven goals with eight assists as a freshman in 2024-25 for Boston College, but only had three points in her sophomore season in just 23 games. She has two years of eligibility remaining.

Jeff Kampersal’s staff is looking to reload a roster that, while coming off its first-ever Frozen Four appearance, is losing three of its top scorers to graduation and seven players overall.
