Drew Shelton Drafted No. 112 Overall By Dallas Cowboys

Former Penn State football offensive tackle Drew Shelton was drafted by the Cowboys with the No. 112 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Shelton joins fellow offensive lineman Vega Ioane, who was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round, and Drew Allar, who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round.
Shelton was a four-star recruit from Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and the No. 3 player in Pennsylvania in the class of 2022 when he committed to Penn State. During his four years with the Nittany Lions, he played both guard and tackle, but had limited starts in his first two years. In his first season, he logged five starts at left tackle and one in his second year. However, he boasted positional versatility, appearing at every position on the offensive line except right guard. This earned him Academic All-Big Ten honors in his sophomore year.
In his junior year, the 6’5″ and 313-pound lineman started all 16 games when the blue and white made it to the national semifinals before falling short against Notre Dame, and received All-Big Ten honorable mention. In his final season with the blue and white, Shelton started 12 games and received his second straight All-Big Ten honorable mention honors. During the season, he only allowed one sack and zero quarterback hits in 359 pass blocking reps during the 2025 season, according to PFF.
Shelton participated in the workouts of the 2026 NFL Combine, where he had a 9’4″ broad jump and 31.0″ vertical jump. This ranked 8th and 20th among other offensive linemen as his athleticism was on full display. However, he did not work out at Penn State’s Pro Day due to injury.
Now, Shelton joins an offensive line in Dallas that has an open competition for the starting left tackle position.
To see where the rest of Shelton’s fellow Nittany Lions go, folks can tune into the remainder of the 2026 NFL Draft. Day three begins at noon on Saturday, April 25, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. All seven rounds will be televised on ABC, ESPN, and the NFL Network.
