Nolan Rucci Signs With Indianapolis Colts As Undrafted Free Agent

Former Penn State football offensive lineman Nolan Rucci is signing with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent, he announced on his Instagram story on Saturday night.

Rucci was originally an elite five-star recruit out of Warwick High School in Lititz, Pennsylvania, in the Class of 2021, receiving offers from all sorts of college football powerhouses. The son of Penn State letterman Todd Rucci, he gave the Nittany Lions consideration before committing to Wisconsin in October 2020.

Despite his high pedigree as a prospect, Rucci played just six games over his three years in Madison, never starting one. After his redshirt-sophomore season, he entered the transfer portal and found his way to his father’s alma mater after all, transferring to Penn State ahead of the 2024 season.

Rucci served as the team’s primary backup swing tackle to start his first season at Penn State, but was elevated to the starting lineup late in the season after an injury to Anthony Donkoh opened up a spot at right tackle, where Rucci started the final five games, including the entire postseason run. He then started all 12 regular-season games for Penn State as its right tackle during the 2025 season before opting out of the Pinstripe Bowl.

Rucci joins his former teammate and Pro Bowl tight end Tyler Warren in Indianapolis as he will compete for a backup swing tackle role behind projected starters Bernhard Raimann and Jalen Travis.
