Penn State Men’s Volleyball Rises To No. 15 In Latest AVCA Poll

Penn State men’s volleyball moved up to No. 15 in the latest AVCA Poll released on Monday. The one-spot jump comes after the Nittany Lions won the EIVA Tournament for a fourth consecutive year, securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Penn State jumped Stanford, with 167 points to the Cardinal’s 155. Lewis, the team ranked No. 14, beat the Nittany Lions by just three points. At No. 19, NJIT is the only other ranked EIVA team.

Penn State heads into the NCAA Tournament with a lot of momentum, riding an 11-match winning streak. That span included a five-match streak of five-setters, ending with a semifinal win against Charleston. In the EIVA Championship match, they swept Princeton.

Penn State will face No. 6 UC Irvine in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The match is set for 9 p.m. on Friday, May 1, at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles. The next two rounds would also be played there if Penn State moves on.
