Happy Valley Casino Officially Open Following Testing Days

Happy Valley Casino, located at the Nittany Mall on 2901 E. College Ave., is officially open, it announced on Instagram Monday morning.

The opening comes after the completion of testing days, as mandated by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, during Blue-White weekend. All proceeds from these testing days were donated to the State College Food Bank and the YMCA of Centre County.

The opening date has been in the works for six years, after Penn State alumnus Ira Lubert won an auction for the space in September 2020 with a $10 million bid. However, it faced legal challenges that delayed construction. The project ultimately lasted a year and a half.

The casino features 600 slot machines, 30 table games, and two dining options. Food options include Aces Social, a restaurant with a wide variety of menu items featuring steaks, seafood, pasta, burgers, wings, and more, as well as a traditional retail bar. Lucky Break Cafe also offers food such as pizza slices, burgers, grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, ice cream, snacks, and beverages like coffee.

Happy Valley Casino will be open daily from 10 to 2 a.m. Guests must be 21 and older to enter. An opening event for the casino is expected in May.
