Penn State Women’s Lacrosse Attacker Rocquette Allen Earns Big Ten Freshman Of The Year

Penn State women’s lacrosse attacker Rocquette Allen was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, the conference announced on Tuesday. Allen became the fourth Penn State women’s lacrosse player to win this award, and Penn State is now tied with Northwestern for the most Big Ten Freshman of the Year accolades.
Allen had an incredible first year with the Nittany Lions, scoring 45 goals with 22 assists for 67 points, all three of which were the best by any Big Ten freshman during the 2026 season. Her 45 goals are tied for the team-high, while her 22 assists and 67 points are each third on the team.ย Along with that, she was a unanimous decision for the All-Big Ten Freshman Team and broke the Penn State record of being named Big Ten Freshman of the Week six times this season.
The Nittany Lions finished the regular season with a record of 12-6 in Kayla Treanor’s first season as the Penn State head coach. They fell short against Michigan in the Big Ten quarterfinals last week and now will await their fate as the Selection Show will take place on Sunday, May 3, to see whether they make the NCAA Tournament as an at-large bid.
