Three-Star Wide Receiver Jamir Dean Commits To Penn State Football

Class of 2027 three-star wide receiver Jamir Dean has committed to Penn State football, he announced on Instagram Friday morning.

The Alcoa, Tennessee, native is ranked the No. 18 player in the state, the No. 54 receiver in his class, and the No. 433 player in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. In Dean’s junior season at Alcoa High School, he tallied 590 receiving yards in 13 games played, exploding for 11 touchdowns. He recorded 34 receptions and averaged 17.4 yards per catch, per his MaxPreps profile.

In addition to football, Dean has a background in both basketball and track and field, in which he surpassed 1,000 career points on the court and qualified for states in numerous athletic events.

Dean chose the Nittany Lions after receiving offers from schools such as Arkansas, Purdue, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech. His commitment marks the team’s first in May, as Matt Campbell and his staff continue to find success on the recruiting trail.
