Bubba’s Eggs, Steaks, & Shakes Closes After Six Months In Business

According to a Facebook post, Bubba’s Eggs, Steaks, & Shakes at 131 S. Garner St. will close its doors immediately.

The retro-style diner opened six months ago in the former location of the French diner Oeuf Boeuf et Bacon. The historic 1947 Silk City Diner was also home to Baby’s Burgers and Shakes for over 30 years until 2020.

The establishment cited staffing challenges as the primary reason for closure, as owners Bubba and Brianna Stroh struggled to hire and maintain a consistent kitchen and serving staff.

Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day, the diner offered comfort food and milkshakes. Its menu included a range of favorites, including omelets, pancakes, waffles, and burgers.

The owners thanked customers and employees for their support during the restaurant’s run. The future of the space is unclear, with no new tenant announced.
