Board Of Trustees Elect Two New Members In Latest Meeting

On Friday, the Board of Trustees announced the election of two new members and the reelection of six former members.

The two new members are Karen Keller, with 11,641 votes, and Joseph Derenzo, with 11,458 votes. Both were elected as alumni trustees. Keller spent 11 years on the Executive Board and Alumni Council. Derenzo is a two-time Penn State graduate, a physician, and a longtime educator.

The third alumni trustee is Jay Paterno, who was reelected with 12,066 votes. Randy Black and Lynn Dietrich were also reelected, but as trustees by agricultural delegates.

For business and industry, Robert Beard and Karen Quintos were once again elected. Beard was first elected in 2023. He has a bachelor’s degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering and a master’s degree in management from Penn State. Quintos was elected that same year and holds a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from Penn State.

Matthew Schuyler, a former Chief Brand Officer and Chief HR Officer for Hilton Worldwide, was reelected as an at-large trustee. He joined the board in 2015.
