Gavin McKenna’s Mom Charged With Furnishing Alcohol To Minors

Penn State hockey star Gavin McKenna’s mom has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of furnishing alcohol to minors, per a criminal docket filed on April 29.
The incident involving Krystal McKenna happened inside Doggies Pub on January 31, the same night Gavin McKenna was charged with felony aggravated assault for allegedly breaking a man’s jaw. The Penn State forward and expected No. 1 NHL draft pick eventually saw his felony charges dropped.
Krystal McKenna, 44, was caught on surveillance footage going to the bar, ordering two mixed drinks with vodka and giving one to her son, per the Centre Daily Times. The video also showed her pouring her mixed drinks into the cups of two underage women.
Per the Centre Daily Times, the liquor control officer knew Gavin McKenna and the two females were underage due to the wristbands they had on. Prior to the incident, Doggies Pub allowed minors into the bar until 7 p.m. if they were with a parent. The alleged furnishing of alcohol took place around 6:55 p.m.
Doggies Pub has since changed its policy towards underage attendees, per its website. No longer allowing them to enter at any time.
Krystal McKenna’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 3 at 8:30 a.m.
